I’ve decided to move on from Substack and email newsletter type formats. I was under no illusion that Substack was a form of “social media” not that I’ve really ever had a real social media footprint in my lifetime. The closest form of it I recently realized was during Occupy Cleveland and a few of the “kids” set up a GroupMe texting app (a Microsoft owned service now) of what was then a burgeoning market on the new adopted smart phone platforms. Our group consisted of maybe twenty people but it was infinitely more powerful than a current presence on Facebook with 100k followers in terms of real-life impact (IRL, remember that?). The reason that a twenty member group text app was so powerful was that shit was actually happening around that app, on the street and in the lives of those twenty people - democracy with a small d. Our experience on it lasted until our occupation imploded by out-of-our-control events in 2012.
Since I left twitter 4.5 years ago just as Covid got rolling and when it took it’s first wave of kill in the form of a close friend, I’ve never looked back. Someday I’ll write a long piece on these so-called social media apps and the destruction left in their wake along with their role as virtual public squares when they work for the betterment of humanity but not today and not here on Substack. Instead, it’s time to "go dark” as the hackers say. We all have to privately work on our IRL hacking skills so to speak and prepare for what’s coming without all the chit-chat. Something big is coming. Much bigger than OWS or BLM. Hint: it has to do with the ForeverWars and the accelerating carnage of Empire. I myself have to prepare for spiritual warfare and blogging about it with emails just doesn’t work for me anymore.
Thanks for being a follower. I took all my content offline and won’t be publishing here anymore. Good luck to us all.
